Dear PTA leaders and members,
On behalf of your Washington State PTA board of directors, I would like to invite you to attend the 103rd Annual WSPTA Convention, taking place May 20-22, 2016 at the Yakima Convention Center. As in years past, we have developed a program full of opportunities for your PTA leaders to learn and grow in their leadership skills, discover the power of this association for our children, network with other PTA leaders from around the state, obtain new ideas for your PTA, and let your PTA's voice be heard on important decisions setting the course for the association's future.
The agenda is full of a number of new and innovative learning opportunities as well as a great line up of inspiring speakers, including National PTA President and WSPTA Past President, Laura Bay.Convention classes offer training for both newly elected officers and seasoned PTA leaders, as well as a variety of classes to help parents raise their children and build a better and safer community for all children.
In addition, you can:
Attend the professional development training, a pre-convention session held on Friday from 10:00 am-11:30 am. These trainings are designed to empower you as a volunteer leader and help you balance work and home life. Choose from:
STEM For Every Child: How the Museum of Flight Inspires and Prepares Students for Their Future!
Join us at the President's Awards Presentation & Celebration that will take place on Saturday evening and will feature the presentation of a number of awards. Following the awards, there will be a cash bar and dancing until 11:00 pm.
As a grassroots membership-driven association your voice is important and necessary to the success of our WSPTA—make sure to join us so you can be heard!
