What Advocacy Means
Advocacy is at the heart of PTA’s mission. The National PTA, first founded in 1897 to give every child a voice, remains the nation’s largest volunteer child advocacy association.
Quick Fact: PTA advocacy influences education policy at the district, state, and national levels, helping ensure every child is safe, healthy, and successful.
How We Get Involved
While much of the advocacy work happens at the Issaquah PTSA Council and Washington State PTA levels, IH PTSA helps bring it home to our community:
Participating in Washington State PTA Legislative Assembly
Supporting Focus Day initiatives
Sharing key priorities and action items with families
Encouraging community engagement in education issues
