The Cultural and Family Partnerships Team will host a virtual Parent Information Night on April 3, from 6:30-8 p.m. about "Attendance and Reporting Student Conflict/HIB" (Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying). This presentation is specially designed with families new to the U.S. school system in mind, but all parents are welcome to attend.

Topics will include:

How to report absences?
Chronic absenteeism vs truancy.
Possible interventions and supports from school for student and family.
Attendance laws.
What is the difference between conflicts and HIB incidents?
How can parents support students?
How to report incidents involving student conflict or HIB?
What are some possible school responses?
What information is shared with parents around the incident?
What does follow up to incidents look like between the parent and school.
